I've just spent the last three nights watching Take That videos on You Tube, poking about Hell Yeah Take That! on Tumblr, reading Take That RPS, and yes, buying the newest Take That album on iTunes.

Also, I've talked a friend into seeing The Eagle on Monday night at the very last theatre in the area still showing it. (Okay, it didn't take much talking into. I might have mentioned there was slash. And said friend might have enthusiastically agreed to go.)

I blame some of you.

And when I say some of you, I mostly mean [livejournal.com profile] halotolerant and [livejournal.com profile] sineala. And Robbie Williams, of course.

And really, I should say "credit" rather than "blame."

Here, have the Take That vid that started all of this:

And a pic of Jamie Bell in The Eagle.

I now return to my regularly scheduled session of drabble writing. (Starsky & Hutch for [livejournal.com profile] loyseofverlaine!) Though is it really a drabble when it's edging ever closer to 1,000 words?

You can worry if I start using TT icons.

It's only a matter of time. *g* People make jokes about my pimpin' skills but Halo has black belt ones, usually strengthened further by being able to offer excellent ficcage in whatever fandom she is attempting to pimp to you.

Yes, she had me reading TGS for a while, well, hers at least, but I'm holding strong against the Take That brainwashing. *juts jaw and builds barricade*

Her ficcage is what did me in, really. She has this post-apocalyptic h/c story that I cannot get out of my head, in which everyone looks after Mark. It is epic! (Mind you, you've got some good ficcage going there yourself.)

I have to admit to reading the occasional TGS story, but mostly the show is enough slash for me. (I have to say, I've already noted the resemblance between Richard Hammond on TG and Mark Owen in TT, and my weakness for the type is kind of frightening.)

If I liked their music more than I do, I know I'd have fallen victim as well by now.

See, I love the TG lads, so it was pretty easy to get me to read her fic. Hell, I even read her TGS OT3 AU involving vampires... Yeah. I *still* think she paid the cabana boys to slip something in to my margaritas, I mean RPS, AU and OT3? Me?

Of course now I'm trying to think of who else fits that mould...

I don't know what you're talking about. ::whistles::

(MInd you, Guerrero is the badass version of the type.)

Guerrero is one of the exceptions that prove the rule to me... and what an exception, having a lot to do with his badassery.

I usually fancy tall men and at the least men a couple of inches taller than me. According to the US government I'm 5'7" although I tend to slouch.

As much as I have a type, I usually prefer taller, older, and scruffier, like Viggo and the Bean. And now Howard Donald in TT. (With one exception, a guy who was pretty much a dead ringer for JEH as Guerrero--shut up!--all my BFs e have been 6' or taller. The Sweetie is 6'6". I'm 5' nothin'. Yes, that's ridiculous.)

But sometimes the little guys just really do it for me. Call it a subtype.

My mate Liz has a theory that while men tend to just have a type, women have a type and a antitype, often the direct opposite of their type. If you get enough glasses of wine in her she likes to ramble on about it with lots of examples. In our group of friends at least it seems to hold true. She also argues that our antitype is usally the sort of man we couldn't put up with for life although we'd love to play with them for a long weekend and that we're inevitably like catnip to our antitype, no matter how bad our luck is with our *real* type. *g*

According to her, my antitype is ex-special forces lads who know how to kill you with a spoon... She may have a point... and, yeah, catnip and yeah, the weekend only else I'd have had to kill them. *G*

I'd say it's the opposite for me. I've never had a problem attracting the tall, scruffy blokes, but with that one exception, the little 'uns have never really gone for me, however much I'm attracted to them.

Ah, well, it's worked out for the best. ::pets my tall scruffy bloke::

It's hysterical performance art when Liz gets on a roll, but I don't think it'd be true for everyone.

Almost all of the men in my family are over six feet tall and they all marry short women. I'm the tallest woman in my family except for my cousin's daughter, whose dad is 6'5", and she only has an inch on me. The next closest to the two of us in height is probably only 5'3".

Humans are fascinating, aren't they? *G*

What is it with tall guys and short women? (I can't tell you how many times a tall woman has blamed me/short women in general for taking all the tall guys. It's not my fault! *g*)

It seems to work the other way too, to a certain extent. Most of the lads I've know who were under 5'5" seem to have ended up with women who were several inches taller than them.

Perhaps nature is always trying to breed medium sized people. *g*

*interrupts*

who is this man in your icon and can you please DHL him to me straight away? (no need to wake him up, he's fine as he is)

That's the lovely, self-depreciatingly funny, Aussie actor Alex O'Loughlin. You may have seen some mention of him in my LJ. In the very near future there shall be a picture spam of him in my LJ that I'd sort of assumed most people would ignore... maybe not. *g*

I meant to ask, how do you feel about Roth?

Lurv him.

First saw him in The Hit ages ago when he was just a baby actor. Love him in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. But even for him, I just can't make myself watch Lie to Me.

I watch it *only* for Roth. I've had a bad case of Rothitis for years.

I just thought he might be another one on your little 'un list. :D

One of the things that amuses me on LTM is how they don't go out of their way to hire short actresses to play against him. He obviously doesn't give a toss. We were watching an older episode earlier tonight (we don't re-watch it but we're still playing DVR catch-up) and his drunk partner took her heels off while leaning on his shoulders and was still taller than him.
