I continue with the project of inflicting Take That on my family. So far it seems to be working.
Last week, the Sweetie, Ros and I were taking her to daycare, and I realized the Sweetie was humming something to himself.
Me: What are you humming?
Sweetie: (sheepishly) Patience
Me: (triumphantly) Yessssss.
Ros: What?!
Me: Daddy was singing Patience.
Ros: Let's all sing Patience!
And so we did, for the two blocks until I peeled off to the subway.
Also, Ros asked me to make her a mix CD for her daycare. Apparently the kids can take in a CD of songs they like and the teacher will play it.
Along with The Beatles' Yellow Submarine (always a favourite) and a number of kids songs, she request three Take That songs: Patience (of course), Never Forget (which she likes dancing along to when I have The Circus DVD on), and Shine.
Except, adorably, she calls Shine "Sparkle."
Clearly, she realizes that Mark Owen is the sparkliest pop singer in the English speaking world:

(Yes, I was just looking for an excuse to post that pic. Your point is?)

Date: 2011-06-13 05:07 pm (UTC)Hey, it could work. *g*
I'm sure she'll love the LED jackets. And so will I. I've been singing 'Love Love' constantly too. I throw in the dance moves if I think I'm alone. So far I haven't been caught, but I'm seeing X-Men tonight with a couple of mates, so the jig might be up once the end credits start. *g*
I have seen the video for Shine many, many times. As I was walking in to work today I was thinking I totally should have embedded it in this post, for added sparkle.

Date: 2011-06-13 07:26 pm (UTC)BTW the silver waistcoat things they wear in this video, I've mentioned they wear them in the concert and then generally have a bit of trouble getting them off. Last night Gary did his usual 'Mark, would you mind taking off my sport's bra?' and Mark complied, telling the audience 'Won't be the first time!' ♥ for boys slashing themselves... *g*

Yes, indeed! And we wouldn't have them any other way. *g*
