I continue with the project of inflicting Take That on my family. So far it seems to be working.

Last week, the Sweetie, Ros and I were taking her to daycare, and I realized the Sweetie was humming something to himself.

Me: What are you humming?
Sweetie: (sheepishly) Patience
Me: (triumphantly) Yessssss.
Ros: What?!
Me: Daddy was singing Patience.
Ros: Let's all sing Patience!

And so we did, for the two blocks until I peeled off to the subway.

Also, Ros asked me to make her a mix CD for her daycare. Apparently the kids can take in a CD of songs they like and the teacher will play it.

Along with The Beatles' Yellow Submarine (always a favourite) and a number of kids songs, she request three Take That songs: Patience (of course), Never Forget (which she likes dancing along to when I have The Circus DVD on), and Shine.

Except, adorably, she calls Shine "Sparkle."

Clearly, she realizes that Mark Owen is the sparkliest pop singer in the English speaking world:

(Yes, I was just looking for an excuse to post that pic. Your point is?)

For a straight boy, Mark brings flamboyant to a whole new level.

Love how you are spreading the word, hon...

If you can't corrupt your family, who can you corrupt? ;-)

Awesome sparkle! I must remember to download some Take That from iTunes! I really enjoyed the video you recced to us a few weeks ago. :-)
Tonight I will search You Tube for them! More, more, more! :-)

Ros is definitely adorable.

I highly recommend them. But then, I'm somewhat biased. ;-)

YouTube is chock full of their stuff. I sling you some links tonight after I get home.

THIS, this is how they make it big across the Pond, because your daughter earworms every kid in sight *applauds Ros for excellent taste at young age*

She is not wrong *g* I think she's going to like the LED jackets off 'Love Love' on Progress Live (neither of my flatmates can stop singing 'Love Love' - and when they catch themselves/I catch them we all do the dance. Cos we're that cool... *g*)

You've seen the original song video for Shine, yes? Lots of shiny in that too *g*

Hey, it could work. *g*

I'm sure she'll love the LED jackets. And so will I. I've been singing 'Love Love' constantly too. I throw in the dance moves if I think I'm alone. So far I haven't been caught, but I'm seeing X-Men tonight with a couple of mates, so the jig might be up once the end credits start. *g*

I have seen the video for Shine many, many times. As I was walking in to work today I was thinking I totally should have embedded it in this post, for added sparkle.

Have you seen the 'X-Men version' of the Love Love video? It's edited rather differently from the one with dancers (so that 'not too far we're too near' always magically comes with Robbie and Mark almost snogging and we seem to cut from Magneto and Charles to shots to Robbie and Gary with a frequency that makes me suspect the editor of being a fangirl *g*)

BTW the silver waistcoat things they wear in this video, I've mentioned they wear them in the concert and then generally have a bit of trouble getting them off. Last night Gary did his usual 'Mark, would you mind taking off my sport's bra?' and Mark complied, telling the audience 'Won't be the first time!' ♥ for boys slashing themselves... *g*

I had seen the vid (though it took some doing initially, as it was geo-blocked here.) And yes, there's some lovely slashy bits.

Yes, indeed! And we wouldn't have them any other way. *g*

Let's hear it for earworming family members.

Mark definitely is one of the sunniest people in music. *g*

Aaahhhh! What's not to love about that sparkling suit ;) and it's pretty impressive how well Mark can get away with it.

And it's quite funny that once again, on the tour finale while the other boys are all wearing black, Mark manages to wear all golden pants! The pants combined with the silly and rather girly dance moves makes watching youtube vids of "Relight" *very* entertaining! Oh, and I assume you've seen the Sunderland vids of Markie humping himself on Gary's thigh and then Robbie joining in for a bittle of a threeway sandwhich humping Mark's backside?

I'm convinced Mark can pull off whatever outfit he damn well pleases. He's just that awesome. *g*

I have seen the pics from the Progress tour, with Mark and his golden pants. He can't help himself! And yes, I've seen the leg humping vids--oh boys, there's a reason we love you so--though I haven't yet seen any of the threeway sandwich ones. (You wouldn't have a link, would you?)

Haha! He indeed is awesome :)some of the stuff he wears is just mad! But that's the nice thing about Mark, you can never quite know how he'll look when they make an appearance etc ;) The others usually dress in more of a traditional way. But I think Mark's usually very stylish, with the scarves, and the waistcoats, and all the millions of cardigans he seems to have, haha! You can definitely tell he's interested in fashion ;)

No, unfortunately I don't have a link to the sandwich ones. But I think the humping happened only on the first two of the Sunderland dates and I think Robbie joined in on the first night. But it happened very fast, almost like a "blink and you'll miss it moment"
I also love all the hugging and dancing Willowen is doing during Never Forget! I've come accross a few quite close up vids of Mark and Robbie dancing *very* closely together, soooo lovely! One night Robbie even twirled Mark around under his arm *g*
The other day I read an interview with Mark and Gary and Mark said that huggs are very much 'in' amongs the boys at the moment :) Mark also said he enjoys all the hugging a lot, and it defnitely shows ;)

You're not wrong that some of the stuff he wears is just mad. (His outfit at the Brits this year certainly was.) But that just endears him to me more, probably not least because my own dress sense is just a bit mad. ;-)

I haven't watched any of the Willowen dancing vids yet, but I thoroughly intend to. I am, you might have noticed, partial to Willowen. *g*

I read that same interview, and had a big "awwwww" moment. They are all just too adorable together.

I'm still not quite sure what that 'thing' at the Brits was, LOL! But he looked adorably silly in it :D The flowery blouses that he's obviously nicked from Emma's closet are amazing as well ;)

Well, who could not love Willowen? They're simply adorable together, and obviusly meant to be ;)

One of my favourite pics of him is in one of those flowery blouses. (I have plans for a Mark pic spam coming up.)

Willowen is perfect, if ever so slightly worry making. (I live in constant fear that Rob will break Mark's heart yet again. Hopefully they've both grown up too much for that to happen again.)

A big yay for a Mark picspam! Please do one *g* there really is no shortage of excellent pics of him, he does know how to work the camera ;) and when watching pics from the 90's I'm always amazed how perfectly he mastered the innocently provocative poses...

The Willowen love indeed is complex. And not the least cause it's so obvious how much having Robbie back in his life means to Mark. He just lights up everytime Robbie gives him even a bit of attention. Even if Robbie decides to do his own professionally after the tour, I really hope there will not be a fall out like last time. But I don't think it will happen, surely they're all too mature and old for something like that. Behind the band may not have been as close friends the first time around as they would have wanted people to believe, but pics like that icon of yours just tell a whole another story. Somehow it just feels that Mark and Robbie did share something deeb and genuine, how could you fake a picture like that? ;)

Btw, would you mind if I add you to my friends? I don't update my own journal (only joined LJ to comment on fics etc), but that way it would be easier to keep track when you make a TT related post ;)

I'm rapidly filling up my laptop with lovely pics of Mark. He does know how to do provocative innocence, doesn't he?

As for Mark and Rob back in the '90s, even if some of their friendship was originally manufactured, there's clearly a lot of it that was entirely genuine. There's a pic in Take That: Take 1, with them in their Sure costume. Rob has Mark pinned on the floor, and is looking adoringly a Mark, while Mark just looks ecstatically happy. It's such a lovely, intimate moment, and I doubt they could fake the emotion in the image. And Mark's description of the image--he says it's the one image from the original days in the band he'd like a copy of--just makes it even sweeter and more intense. I do reckon they'll stay good friends. I just give a little internal wince every time Rob goes all loose cannon, as he so often does.

BTW, your Kidz icon is lovely. I adore that pic.

That picture you described is absolutely beautiful! You can't deny the love there *g* Can't blame Mark for wanting a copy of it. I've seen the 90's tour vids on youtube and I think that pic is from one of the tours. At one point in the show Robbie and Mark keep running towards each other, then jumping up slightly and bumping at each other, and of course with Robbie being so much heavier, Mark always ends up lying on his back on the floor from the force of the collision. Robbie of course has to help him up ;)Lovely!
Didn't Gary write on that book that after seeing pics of those two, he only later realised how close they actually were...

"BTW, your Kidz icon is lovely. I adore that pic." Me too. It's those adoring looks, it's always the looks (that say more than a thousand words) ;)

I've really got to see more of the footage from the '90s. They're such babies back then, but adorable.

I've gone through Take 1 again--oh, the agony *g*--and the big Gary quote in it is the one about Robbie breaking Mark's heart. I will never tire of reading that bit. Or looking at the pics to be honest.

And yes, there is no one on the planet who does the adoring look like Mark in the presence of Rob. ::sigh::
