Just got back from an afternoon of playing doctor-x-rays-doctor-pharmacy.

The official word is...Rosalind has pneumonia. Yikes!

Fortunately it's mild, her energy is still pretty good, and she's on a massive dose of penicillin, so that's good. And her doctor says we can still go on the camping trip we planned for the weekend.

And now I shall do the "working at home" I'd had planned for the afternoon.

Pneumonia in healthy kids and adults is nothing to freak about nowadays, provided it gets diagnosed and medicated. A lot of docs will use "pneumonia" and "bronchitis" kinda interchangeably.

If she starts coming down with it nearly every time her allergies flare up or she gets a cold, then you might want to see an allergist to check for unknown allergen triggers or asthma. Uncontrolled asthma / allergies leave the lungs more susceptible to picking up a virus or bacteria when the rest of the immune system is fighting off seasonal allergies or a cold bug.

I know it's not that serious, it's just at the point where it's sort of exhausting. For everyone.

Watching out for the allergen triggers is a good suggestion, though. I've been increasingly afraid that this was the onset of asthma for her, so I'm definitely going to watch for recurrence.
