Soccer Night: Game Twelve
Aug. 8th, 2013 12:04 amIt was another game with only eight players again last night. Which meant everybody had long stretches of playing at one time or another, which they all handled well. Our best player is really turning into a leader on the field. She's hanging back on occasion to give other kids the chance to take it down the field, and Don heard her giving other kids pep talks on how to handle the ball between plays. Go her! And we were playing a pretty tough team, and managed to win 1 - 4, so go us!
After having a few games where she was really hanging back, Ros was getting much more stuck in. When she started hanging back in the second half, we pulled her and our other smallest player who was also flagging, for a rest, and then they both went back on the next rotation with much more energy. There are definitely kids you can play for long stretches and they'll ask for more, and kids who need more rest breaks.
Only three games to go. At least we'll have most of our players back from vacation for the rest of the games.
