Yesterday we picked up our tickets and did the final bit of schedule finessing for this year's edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (hereafter TIFF). I'm seeing my usual 30, and though I was shut out of a few films I'd really wanted to see, including Terry Gilliam's Tideland and, of course, Brokeback Mountain, it's still looking to be an interesting year.

My full schedule is behind the cut. If anyone on the flist is going to the same films, let me know. It'd be fun to hook up.

Yup, it can be a bit tricky doing both. But on the other hand you do get to see as many movies as you like for free. I was thinking about writing for the festival, reviews and summaries for the programs. That work is over before the festival actually starts and on top of that it's a lot of fun.

I'm probably going to make a few more Willem icons I just need to make some screen-caps. Is there anything particularly you'd like capped while I'm at it?

Writing for the program books would be fun. Alas, the Toronto fest is big enough that doing that is a paid position. (And not to well paid, at that.) Most of the volunteering here is manning lines and taking tickets.

Is there anything particularly you'd like capped while I'm at it?

Nothing I can think of from L.A. (I'm going to grab the Artist icon when I get home.) But if you're ever capping from Platoon, I'd love an icon of Sgt. Elias.

Ours is 60-40. Some paid positions and then they hire people, mainly us students, to do some work on a voluntary basis.

Platoon icons sounds like an excellent idea:)
