Bravo Two Zero Vid
Aug. 31st, 2003 10:06 pmIn between recovering from anesthetic and attending WorldCon panels, I've finished a vid. The source is Bravo Two Zero; the song is Simon & Garfunkel's Patterns.
It's in Quicktime format. To view it, either right click (PC) or Control click (Mac) on the link and download it to your hard drive.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone thinks it works or not.
Edit, Sept. 1: I've posted the tweaked and (I hope) final version.

Date: 2003-09-01 08:57 pm (UTC)But I have a couple of questions. Do you think the first verse works, even though it doesn't literally match the lyrics? Does the musical bridge near the end work for you? And what about the last shot? (Okay, that was three questions, not two. *g*)
I'd be interested to hear what you think on any of those points.
Loved It
Date: 2003-09-01 05:10 am (UTC)I would like to see something stronger as the last clip - if the sense is that he still trapped, then I'd like to see it more viscerally demonstrated. Or if he is free, then something less abrupt.
Re: Loved It
Date: 2003-09-01 08:55 pm (UTC)And I have two questions for you. First, do you think the first verse works? It doesn't match the lyrics literally, but I was trying to get in some narrative context and something had to give. Second, does the musical bridge work for you? I was rather proud of that sequence, but my partner gave it a mixed review.
Okay, no more questions. And thanks again for letting me know what you think.
Yes!
Date: 2003-09-01 02:25 pm (UTC)Good news about TT at Worldcon! I was just a DragonCon this weekend and saw a presentation by OneRing.net on the TT extended preview, ROTK preview and spy shots, etc. Seems forever until November -- more Sean! more Sean! *dancing in glee*
Re: Yes!

Date: 2003-09-01 09:04 pm (UTC)You and me both. I did notice your post. Saturday night. Oh well.
And yes, I had a great time. Am even considering going to WorldCons that aren't conveniently held in my hometown.

Date: 2003-09-07 04:17 pm (UTC)But oh WOW. I loved this. I am a very bad girl in that I haven't actually watched BTZ yet, but yeah, this definitely makes me think I should get around to doing that one day *G* I love the timing of it, and all the back-and-forth cuts. Am very, very fond of the shot of McNab and the other prisoner to the line "From the moment of my birth..."
REALLY awesome. You rock my socks!

Date: 2003-09-07 08:35 pm (UTC)Hey, I still owe you feedback for the Malfoy vid. (Very funny, BTW. More after the fest.)
I'm tickled you like. I reckoned this might be one that no one else got. And yeah, I'm far too fond of that shot of McNab and Dinger too. (Swear to god, I didn't make up that name.)
As for BTZ, you totally have to see it. And you're welcome to borrow my copy. (Just have to find a time to hand it off.)
