So, last weekend I was out from Saturday to Monday with the worst migraine I've had in at least ten years. (I actually went to the doctor and got the serious migraine drugs for it.)

This week, Ros got a truly horrendous cough on Thursday (which is weirdly okay during the day, but gets so bad at night that she's nearly thrown up), and then Friday night the Sweetie developed aches, chills and fever. (103, off and on.)

At the moment, I'm the only well one in the house.

A house, I might add, that looks like a bomb exploded in it. If there was a bomb made up entirely of doll clothes, toys and cat hair, that is.

And this just as I was hoping to watch stuff on the PVR, get some serious work done on the Batman vid, and put more words down on my UNCLE Down the Chimney story. (I got prompts that required plot! And research! And I actually have nearly 2,000 words written.)

Oh yeah, and after years of contemplating it, I signed up for Yuletide.

And also [livejournal.com profile] wrisomifu. A.K.A. Write Something You Miserable Fuck. Because [livejournal.com profile] draycevixen did. And I love the name. And I'll never do NaNoWriMo. And it may actually get me through the UNCLE and Yuletide stories.

::sigh::

Yikes. Yikes! Congratulation on surviving so far and even writing about it. *g* I hope Ros recovers soon and your Sweetie hurriedly follows, and you get some nice, relaxing time to recover--and vid, and write! Congratulations on the sign-ups! I get tempted every year by Yuletide, and then chicken out. I shall watch in admiration!

Assuming the pestilence has the good manners to move on.

Good luck! *Pats shoulder because, you know, hugs and pestilence don't go together very well* *g*

Ros is doing okay, so long as she doesn't wake up at 3 a.m. again tonight hacking. The Sweetie, however, still looks like death warmed over. And I'm not looking much better, dealing with all the house stuff, getting up with Ros in the middle of the night and making sure he's not about to expire of dehydration, pneumonia or some other nonsense.

Here's hoping he recovers soon and I can get on with the writing, vidding stuff.

*pats shoulder back: I wouldn't want to encourage the spread of pestilence. *g*

Gawd, you poor thing. Talk about being poleaxed by life. I'm an occasional migraine sufferer so I sympathise, and I really hope Ros and the Sweetie get back on their feet soon.

And well done you for signing up for all those things!

Ros seems on the way to getting better. The Sweetie, not so much. Just hope he gets better before I keel over from exhaustion. (Doing all the house/meal/laundry stuff on top of getting up in the middle of the night with Ros and sleeping on her floor does not go well together.)

Here's hoping I manage all the writing challenges. I think I'm in good shape for those at least.

Ugh. You poor thing! Poor Zed family

(((((((squishes family tight)))))))

I'm so sorry. Pestilence is never any fun.

Good on you for pushing yourself writing-wise. I'm trying to be the *teensiest* bit conservative this year. The last two years I volunteered for Me & Thee's Secret Santa and also contributed something to the Advent calendar.

This year I'm Secret Santa-ing for SPN. But that's it. Oh, I owe two vids to people and desperately need to update my website, and am about 1/3 of the way through an SPN gen fic.

But other than that, I'm doing nothing. ;-)

So are you going to focus exclusively on UNCLE? Or are you going to mix it up a bit?

I've been conservative in the writing exchanges the last two years (just the Advent calendar) but thought I'd stretch myself a bit this year. I think I've planned it so I don't kill myself. The UNCLE story is well on its way, I've got a ringer for the Advent calendar (a Comfort and Joy story that was meant for a zine and never got used, and just needs to be Christmas-ified), and I've chosen mostly movie fandoms for Yuletide (including, you'll be amused to hear, Wings of Desire) so I don't need to catch up on 100 episodes of something to write the fic. We'll see how that goes.

Good luck with the SPN fic. If I ever get caught up on things, I'm going to start reading yours and Callisto's Winchester stories.

Agh! Sorry to hear the Plague Fairy came by your house. I hope you are all up and at 'em soonest!

If there was a bomb made up entirely of doll clothes, toys and cat hair, that is.

Is this a sneak peek of your Down the Chimney plot? You know T.H.R.U.S.H. would be all over it...

And also [info]wrisomifu. A.K.A. Write Something You Miserable Fuck.

Oh, man, I hadn't heard of that--I just now ran over there and begged to be enlisted for a month o' misery. Thanks for the tip!

I curse the Plague Fairy and the horse she rode in on.

The doll clothes, toys and cat hair bomb would clearly be a third season story. *g*

As for wriso, glad to hear you're on board. Even on crazy days, I reckon I can manage 10 minutes. (Though days like today I begin to wonder. Urgh.)

Good grief. Here's hoping that things settle and the writing goes smoothly.

We had the same cough thing going around here for most of October. I was the first one with it - got over it and got it from the kids again. The kids would be fine during the day and hacking up a lung when they went to bed.

Hope everyone is feeling well soon.

The writing projects sound good - not sure where you find the time!

Here's hoping Ros gets over the coughing thing real soon. (Not a peep from her so far tonight. Fingers crossed...)

This from a guy who's going to do NaNoWriMo? (Good luck with that, and I mean that in the most non-sarcastic way.)

The thing is I have participated in NaNoWriMo twice and both times my word count was so pathetic, I don't think it would have mattered if I was in NaNo or not.

I am hoping this year will be different.
