I think I love EVERYTHING that has to with it and I LOVED how Rob announced it, made it soooooooo important and awwww, I could just see him sit there in front of his laptop, hardly able to wait until the deadline (he created himself!), fangirling like a really BIG GIRL!

I've been hoping ridiculously hard that Mark got to play in this match. (Especially since Olly Murs popped up in the list so early. Grrrrr.) And I was very happy to see how enthusiastically Rob made the announcement. Yay!

Just wish that there were better tickets available, and that I could reasonably get over for the match. (And if you could make it too, that would be even better!) Ah well, that's what the internet is for, no?

I honestly thought about flying over for the game.

And Howard's doing a DJ gig in Manchester a week afterwards, which would've been PERFECT.

But the gig is also the day of the Canada/USA friendly here which I have already planned to go to and will buy tickets for this week.

The match is June 3rd, and then on June 12 Canada starts the next round of World Cup Qualifiers. I went to their WCQ home matches last year, they were super fun!

When the tickets first went on sale, I had this mad moment of nearly buying a couple on the off chance that Mark got added. I wish I had, though I'm pretty certain the Sweetie is quite relieved I didn't. (If a Mark solo gig turns out to be in the offing, however, rest assured I will be there with bells--and sparkles and glitter--on.)

I figured it was a long shot. Unlike certain members of the band--Mr Barlow, I'm looking at you--he hasn't been one to push himself forward outside of TT. More's the pity.

It was nice to have those few days of actual hope that he was really going to do some solo stuff, but that is definitely fading. Still, you're right that the Soccer Aid thing offers some hope that he wants to step into the limelight a bit on his own. Though granted Rob will be there this time. I'm just desperate to get my stupid course assignment done (due tomorrow!) and then survive next week at work while I'm finishing a big project. Just had to come over here to vent my squeee! again. Ahh it really is amazing. And surely there will be Willowen cuddling?!! If not just to please us, then they can't keep their hands off each other anyway, so that should be settled!! I hadn't seen that scruffy footballer!Mark pic before, one of my favorite looks on him!

I love me a fast, agile attacking midfielder with good dribbling skills! Combined with Mark = TOO much. Really curious to see if he's still got it (besides all the rest he's got going for him, damn him!).

That scruffy footballer!Mark pic turned up on Tumblr in the last week and I grabbed it immediately. I'm also very fond of scruffy Mark. And I pretty much adored the beard from earlier this year, mostly because I thought it was adorable that it took him to age 40 to grow a proper beard. ;-)

What you said! I've watched rather of lot of the charity matches he's done on YT, and he really is good! Here's hoping he's still got it.

When I first read the news about Mark being at Soccer Aid I was at work. I just gasped for air and went "Awww wow!", forgetting I was among people :D

For UK TV I generally depend on torrents, which for most shows go up a few hours to a day after airing. I can give you a short primer if you like, and I've got a couple of invitations to one of the big UK TV torrents sites.

A primer is basically just an introductory lesson. And here's one on torrenting.

You first need a torrent client for your computer. This is a program on your machine that links to a torrent site. I'm on a Mac, and use Transmission, but there are other clients out there. Here's a review of the big Mac Torrent clients: http://torrentfreak.com/mac-bt-clients/ And here's one for PC clients, that also include some information on torrenting basics: http://torrentfreak.com/mac-bt-clients/

Then you need to grab a torrent file from a torrent site. One of the main ones I use is http://www.thebox.bz/main.php (This is the one I have invites to, so if you can't get an account, drop me a line.) Another good one is UK Nova, but they don't allow invites, and they cap their memberships, so it can be challenging to get a membership. To get my account, I had to hit the site every day for a couple of weeks, so you may not want to bother. There's also http://eztv.it/ It doesn't require membership, but it concentrates on U.S. TV and only has a bit of UK stuff.

Once you have your client and a torrent site, you next need to download a torrent file for the show you want. Then open your client, and point it to that torrent file. The torrent file allows you to connect to everyone else who is seeding the file. You then pull little bits of the file from them until you have it complete, at which point you become a seeder.

Basic client etiquette is that you want to seed as much as you download.

That should get you started. If you give it a try and have any questions, let me know.

As for the legality, yeah, it's pretty much not. I reconcile this for myself by only torrenting the stuff that's just not available here in Canada. Or by torrenting things that I know I'm going to buy as soon as they're out anyway. That's a very personal choice, though. And I imagine the Soccer Aid stuff will turn up on YouTube, and sooner rather than later.

They are pretty in that icon, aren't they? They were just adorably young there, and I love Rob's slightly protective stance and expression, and the way Mark's just sort of snuggled into him.
